MAIT students won prizes in Smart India Hackathon (SIH18)
First prize of Rs one lakh under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
B.Tech Students of MAIT won first prize at Smart India Hackathon (SIH18) under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for the problem – Social Media Sentiment Analysis at the 36 hours grand finale held on 30-31 March at JCERC University, Jaipur nodal centre. Team Linguistic Pandas has total 6 student team members from different disciplines of engineering – Abhishek Popli-Team Leader (CSE), Vasu Gupta (IT), Saurabh Vyas (IT), Varunika Gupta (IT), Aayush Bajaj (IT), Deepak Jindal (CSE).
Students proposed a system that will scrap the social media handles to fetch authorized information and then analyze to understand feedback and sentiments of people who are reacting to it. After analysis, system will generate: Summary of the reactions (comments/tweets), Result as Positive, Neutral or Negative, and Data Insights and Graphs.
Students were presented trophy and cash prize of Rs One lakh by Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports. A matching award of Rs One lakh was given by MATES Management committee to the winning team.
Special Recognition of MAIT Faculty BY E- YANTRA Team
The team of faculties from Maharaja Agrasen Institute Of Technology, Mr. Yogesh Sharma (Assistant Professor, CSE), Mr. Anupam Kumar (Assistant Professor, CSE), Ms. Vatsala Khanna Arya (Assistant Professor, ECE) and Ms. Rajni (Assistant Professor, ECE) attended a two day workshop at IIT- Mumbai from 20th -21st July 2018, conducted by e-Yantra under the e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI) program.
The eLSI Program was two phased program having (i) A two-day workshop and (ii) A task based training
Two day workshop was on robotics and embedded systems and included hands-on training on embedded systems and microcontroller and programming of AVR microcontroller. Each module comprised of an interactive session followed by the team applying the concept to program the Firebird V Robot.
During the second phase of task based training, team has to complete the given tasks in twelve weeks but MAIT team completed all the tasks successfully in record time of 2 weeks.
Team has received special recognition from TBT Team.
