BITSAT Exam Overview
The Birla Institute of Technology & Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is one of the toughest entrance examinations of India. It is organized and administered by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. BITSAT is the gateway for getting admission to UG and PG courses in the three BITS campuses like K.K. Birla Goa Campus, Hyderabad Campus, and BITS Pilani Campus. This prestigious exam is conducted through a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
The basic eligibility to apply for BITSAT is:
- Minimum educational qualification of 12th or equivalent exam with 75% aggregate marks in subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology.
- Apart from 75% aggregate marks, applicants need to have scored individual 60% marks separately in each of the three subjects
- English proficiency
- Candidates who are going to appear class 12th exam in 2018 or 2017 are eligible for BITSAT 2018

Those who are applying for BITSAT should give special attention to topics like Chemistry, Physics, English, Logical Reasoning, and Mathematics. Apart from this, they also need to Check and cover previous year question paper, Get the official syllabus and question pattern for BITSAT 2018, Appear online tests as much as possible, Read newspapers and GK books daily, Give special attention to PCM for best scores. In Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, students can get 45, 27, and 30 difficult questions, 48, 54, and 63 moderate questions, and 27, 39, and 52 easy questions respectively.
Entrance Syllabus: (Subjects for Study)
Students appearing for BITSAT 2018 should cover five major subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning. Study class 11 and 12 books and cover topics like Electricity and Magnetism, Modern Physics, Heat and Thermodynamics, Organic chemistry 1 & 2, Physical Chemistry 1 & 2, English grammar, Synonyms & Antonyms, Collective noun, comprehension, circles, theory of equation, Sets, Relations & Functions, Trigonometric Ratios and Identities, Permutations & Combinations, Application of Derivatives, Limits & Differential Coefficient, and so on.
BITSAT is three hours long and is conducted through the Online Computer Based Test mode. The question paper comprises of 150 objective-type, Multiple Choice Questions and each right answer fetches three marks. For each incorrect answer, one mark is deducted. If the applicants succeed answering all 150 questions within three hours without skipping any question, they can attempt extra 12 questions; four each from topics like Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics only).
