XLRI conducts XAT or Xavier Aptitude Test on behalf of XAMI. The XAT 2019 scheduled on 6th January 2019 will select the most appropriate students for Management Education. More than 150 institutes use the XAT score for admissions. The online Form filling process started on 20th August and will end on 30th November 2018. The aspirants need to register providing the basic information to generate ID and Password. The registration process and filling up the application form will get done in two different stages. After making the payment or making the registration fees, the registration will be complete.

XAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria
Aspirants holding a Bachelor’s Degree with pass marks are eligible for XAT 2019. There is no age limit restrictions. There are no minimum qualifying marks! The candidate must complete three years Bachelors Degree in any discipline from a certified university. The aspirants completing professional degree courses, i.e., CA/CS/ICWA are also eligible for registration. The students appearing the final year Bachelors Degree can also apply for appearing the tests. The applicants must declare and maintain a valid and active Email account and phone number throughout the registration and selection process.
XAT 2019 Examination fee
The application fee for XAT 2019 is Rs 1700 without late fee which was Rs 1650 last year. After the deadline, the application fee will be Rs 2000 where Rs 300 is the late fee. The applicants need to pay Rs 300 as the additional fee for each XLRI program. The late fee for each program is Rs 500. The applicants can make the payment in both ways, i.e. online and offline.
Online Payment can be made through Credit cards, Debit card, IMPS, Internet Banking, Mobile Wallets and Cash Cards.
Steps to follow
The applicant needs to download the challan form from the website and visit the nearest branch of IDBI Bank.
The applicants need to submit a Demand-Draft in favor of XLRI Jamshedpur payable at Jamshedpur. XLRI accepts Demand Draft of any bank as payment.
XAT 2019 Exam pattern and mode
XLRI Jamshedpur will conduct the XAT 2019 online exam on 6th January 2019 in a single session from 10: 00 AM to 1: 00 PM. XLRI introduced some changes in the exam pattern for 2019 exams.
The previous year, the exam was three and a half hours but this year, the exam hour reduced to three years. There will be no Essay Writing Test in XAT 2019.
The exam pattern for XAT 2019 consists of four sections instead of five sections in previous years. There will be no subjective type questions in the XAT 2019 question paper.
The Verbal and Logical Ability section will contain 26 questions. The section of Decision Making will contain 22 questions. The applicants will face 27 questions in Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation section while in the General Knowledge section the applicants will face 25 questions. The total number of questions is 100. For each question, the candidates will get five options. The candidates will get one mark for each correct answer, and 0.25 marks will get deducted for wrong answers. For GK section, there are no negative markings, and the candidates will get 10 minutes to attempt the GK questions. If any candidate doesn’t attempt more than 12 questions, the test takers will deduct 0.05 marks per question as the penalty. The exam conducting authority will use the marks scored in the General Knowledge section for final selection and not at the time of shortlisting the candidate.

The XAT exam’s question paper contains four sections, i.e., Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Decision Making, and General Knowledge. The aspirants must prepare for the exams according to the syllabus and give high efforts to score good marks in the exam.

The candidates can refer to previous year’s XAT test papers to learn about the exam pattern. Apart from the changes, the exam pattern will remain the same. The aspirants can refer the XAT exam preparation books to strengthen the fundamentals and get clarification on the concepts. The candidates can practice the test papers and solve real XAT exam questions that make them confident to solve a variety of questions. XAT 2019 cutoff marks and score card validity
XLRI will declare the cutoff marks for XAT 2019. But, based on previous year’s cutoff marks, it is expected, the cutoffs for XLRI may be 96, and for SPJIMR the cutoffs will be above 93. Similarly, the leading MBA Colleges like XIM and IMT’s cutoff marks was 90. The cutoff marks for other leading MBA colleges will be above 85, and the cutoff marks for 2nd ranking MBA colleges will be above 70 while the cutoff marks for other MBA colleges will be above 60.
The scorecard is valid for one year. The candidates will receive the original scorecard via post at the registered mailing address. The candidates can also download the scorecard online.
Do’s and Don’ts of XAT 2019
The candidates need to carry the admit card (2 hard copies). Make sure to paste a recent passport size photograph on the admit card. Apart from carrying the admit card, the candidates need to carry the one original identity card like Voter ID Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, etc. The candidates need not carry any book, notebook, paper, pen, pencil, mobile, calculator or any other electronic equipment to the exam center. The candidates will get a pen/pencil and plain paper for rough works at the exam center. The candidates who violate the instructions, will not be allowed to enter the exam center.
